If you are thinking about dressing your windows and want to do it differently from curtains, at 10xDiez we advise you to try roller blinds, one of the most practical and convenient solutions available.
With roller blinds, you can control the amount of light entering at any time of the day, and they allow you to maintain privacy from the outside. If you want to create an intimate and private atmosphere, blackout roller blinds will be the best solution, but if on the contrary you want to enhance natural light, you can choose translucent blinds.
If you have decided on roller blinds, we advise you to keep reading to find out how to install them on any window.
How to install your roller blind?
Find the location where you want to install the blind. Roller blinds are very lightweight, which allows you to install them easily; you can install it on the ceiling, on the wall, or even in the window recess.
Take measurements
If you opt to place it inside the frame, the width of your blind must be the same width as the opening where the window is placed, minus 2 cm on each side. The height must be equal to the opening measurement minus 2 cm.
If you prefer to place it outside the frame. This type of installation completely covers the window and allows you to totally hide the interior of the room. The measurement of the blind should be approximately 10-15 cm wider than the window.
If placed over the window pane. We will fix the blind directly to the window frame. To calculate the width and height of the blind, you must add a 1.5 cm margin to each side. This option is not valid for tilt-and-turn windows.
If you decide to place it inside the window. It is necessary to include spacer brackets to prevent the blind from rubbing against the window when it is tilt-and-turn. To ensure that the brackets are not visible, it is advisable that the blind measures 10 cm more on each side of the window measurement.
Once we have decided where we are going to place the blind, we are going to start installing the structure of the blind.
Draw a straight line where the brackets will be placed, and use a spirit level so that it is perfectly aligned.
Measure the distance between the brackets.
Mark on the previously drawn straight line the measurement of the blind brackets to drill, using the holes in the brackets as a guide. There must be the same distance on both sides of the window.
Once the holes are made, place the wall plug that corresponds to the characteristics of your wall.
Screw the brackets.
Finally, place the roller blind on the brackets, screw it to the brackets and you will have your blind ready to use.
